It's a...

Finding out we were pregnant so early made the wait for the doctors appointment feel forever away.  I did start to notice a few things as we were waiting.  I was exhausted, more tired than I have ever been.  I never fall asleep before Mike and when pregnant I typically hit the pillow and was out! I didn't notice much sickness at first, but around 9-10 weeks I started to feel nauseous and was living on Ramen noodles.  We would buy cases of them and I would have to eat them every night before I went to bed. I had downloaded a couple apps to track the baby's size and learn the many things happening to me each week.  It was an exciting time. At 10 weeks we told our family and everyone was so excited for us.  My mom said that she knew it, and my dad said he could tell because earlier that day we went to lunch with the family and my niece started to crawl on me and Mike told her to stop and that I wasn't "a jungle gym." Apparently that was a give away to my dad haha.

At 13 weeks we had an ultrasound and got our first profile pictures of our little baby.  So tiny and so precious.  To think that I was growing this little one was pretty overwhelming, and seeing an actual picture of that perfect little body was incredible.  Over the next little while I wasn't feeling great, I didn't have morning sickness, it was more night nausea.  I felt great for most of the day, but by about 7-8pm I was ready to curl up and go to sleep so I didn't feel sick.

At right about 15 weeks Mike came home and told me that his friend went to this place called Fetal Fotos to find out what the gender is before the doctor would tell us at the anatomy appointment at 20 weeks. I had asked my doctor about a blood test to find it early, and he advised us to enjoy the milestones of our first pregnancy and wait.  I, of course, was SO ready to know what we were having and I couldn't imagine waiting 5 more weeks to know.  Mike knew this and while he was content to "enjoy the milestones" I couldn't wait. :)   We got online to the Fetal Fotos website and booked an appointment.

I told the few friends and family who knew I was pregnant that we were going and all were waiting for us to let them know after the appointment.  We went in and of course little one was being modest. Either legs were crossed or sitting with her legs tucked up. The ultrasound technician even had me get up and do some yoga moves to get the baby to move. It was successful and we were able to see that we were having a GIRL!

If you know anything about me, you know that I am super girly, and just about died from excitement of getting this little lady and all the pink pink pink we were going to have! We went right over to my moms house to tell her and she joined in on the excitement. We then went to my sisters where my nieces cheered with us.  I don't know if Mike was disappointed it wasn't a boy, he didn't show it, but he quickly because the protector that I imagined he would be, and would make a great dad to a little girl.

She was perfect, and everything was looking great.  We decided to let everyone know and did an announcement on social media.  I just wanted everyone to know.  The love and excitement poured in from all our friends and family.  It was a true celebration.
